Marquesas: Ua Pou
Ua Pou was the last of the Marquesas we visited in October 2013. We stopped only for a few days on the western side during a calm period. The bay was still a bit rolly but the rugged island with its high rock spires is worth a visit.

Enjoyed your photos. I lived with a Margesan family in the little village of Hakauti, just north around the point from Vaiehu Bay, for four months back in 1962. Gave me a young wife. Living like a native and wanted to stay, but the French kicked me out. Anchored our yawl the “Opportunity” in Vaiehu Bay. No roads, airport, etc in those days. Dreams of a time gone by.
Good luck.
